Martin's Big Words: The Life of Martin Luther King Jr. - In this book, author and historian Doreen Rappaport uses King's own words to tell his story and continue to inspire children with his profound message.
Magnificent Homespun Brown: A Celebration - This beautifully told story is a true celebration of love for oneself in one's own skin.
Mae Among the Stars - This is based on the story of Mae Jemison, the first African American to travel to space. It is such an inspiring story for us all.
Bedtime Inspirational Stories - One of my personal favorites! This compilation of inspiring stories about 50 amazing black heroes is such a special way to end the day.
Harlem Grown - I get chills of inspiration reading this story. It is based on a true story about a group of underserved school kids turning a parking lot into a garden which turned into a movement.
The 1619 Project: Born on the Water - This book is an incredible story of the black resistance group in the United States fighting against slavery. Not only is it a story about slavery, but it also teaches children the importance of hope and standing up for what you believe in.
